Fairyland Creche has been in operation since 2002 in its present purpose built 4,000 sq feet premises at its convenient location at Frenchpark, Oranmore, Co. Galway – Just off the Dublin Roundabout.
For all your “Little Pixies” aged 3 months to 5 years we offer a full day care service which includes breakfasts, mid-morning snacks, a hot dinner, mid-afternoon snacks and a high tea.
For all your “Wee Folk” aged 5 to 11 years we offer a breakfast club with drop off to local schools, collection from schools, a hot dinner, supervised homework and a mid-afternoon snack.
The owners are Charles & Maria Powell. Maria has a nursing background and has operated Fairyland Creche, Playgroup and Montessori school for the past 25 years. We originally opened Fairyland Playgroup in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath in 1986 and re-located to Oranmore and opened Fairyland Creche & Montessori school in 1996. In 2002 we moved to our purpose built 4,000 sq feet premises in its extremely convenient location.
Joining the Management Team this year is their daughter Keira Hanney who has a Level 6 qualification in Management & Supervision in Childcare and who will help to deliver the E.C.C.E. Free Pre-School Year to children who are eligible for this scheme which was introduced by the Office of the Minister for Children & Youth Affairs in January 2010.
Keira will assist Charles and Maria with new enrolements, H.R. Administration, Accounting and the day to day Management of the creche.
Charles & Maria have a very active role on a day to day basis with Charles responsible for the preparation and cooking of hot meals as well as the drop off and collection of the children to and from the local schools. He is also the accounts manager having had a background in Accountancy prior to joining the Police Force from which he retired in 1999.
Maria assists in the preparation of hot meals and snacks and is also responsible for the drop off and collection of children from school as well as being responsible for administration, enrolments, staff issues, child protection and the general day to day operation of the facility.
Fairyland Creche offers a safe, secure, happy and comfortable environment with facilities which are stimulating, child age appropriate and suitable to the needs and capabilities of the child in collaboration with happy, friendly staff who are appropriately qualified and experienced and work in partnership with parents and take account of the holistic development of the child.
Fairyland Creche operates an “Open Door” policy which means that all parents are welcomed into Fairyland each morning and are encouraged to settle their children in and also to ease the children home in the evening. All parents are welcome to drop into Fairyland at any time to visit their children and are given personal feedback at the end of each day.
We encourage parents to get involved in the special occasions and events when possible and encourage suggestions on improving our service and policy changes.
